Description

Indulgent KitKat truffles bring chocolate lovers a delightful twist on classic candy. Sweet chocolate and crispy wafer layers combine into irresistible bite-sized treats perfect for sharing with friends and family.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Base:

  • 4 kitkat bars
  • 113 g (4 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 113 g (4 oz) white chocolate, melted

Coating and Decoration:

  • 226 g (8 oz) milk chocolate, for melting
  • 2 kitkat bars, crushed (for topping)

Optional Garnish:

  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) chocolate sprinkles
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Instructions

  1. Pulverize the kitkat bars into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed plastic bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with the pulverized kitkat crumbs until a uniform mixture forms.
  3. Gently fold the melted white chocolate into the kitkat-cream cheese mixture, ensuring complete integration and a smooth consistency.
  4. Refrigerate the mixture for 15-20 minutes to firm up, making it easier to shape into truffle balls.
  5. Using clean hands or a small cookie scoop, form the chilled mixture into uniform round balls, placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Return the truffle balls to the refrigerator for an additional 15 minutes to solidify.
  7. Melt the milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds to prevent burning, until completely smooth.
  8. Carefully dip each chilled truffle into the melted milk chocolate, using a fork to ensure complete coverage and smooth excess chocolate.
  9. Immediately sprinkle the crushed kitkat pieces over the chocolate-coated truffles while the coating is still wet.
  10. Optional: Lightly dust with chocolate sprinkles and a tiny pinch of sea salt for extra texture and flavor complexity.
  11. Place the finished truffles on the parchment-lined sheet and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until the chocolate coating sets completely.
  12. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Notes

  • Crush kitkat bars thoroughly to ensure smooth, even texture without large chunks that might disrupt truffle consistency.
  • Use room temperature cream cheese for easier blending and preventing lumpy mixture that could affect truffle smoothness.
  • Chill mixture between steps to maintain structural integrity and make shaping truffles easier without sticking to hands.
  • Consider alternative chocolate coatings like dark or white chocolate for different flavor profiles and visual variety.
