Ingredients

Scale

Protein:

  • 250 g (8.8 ounces) Minced meat
  • 100 g (3.5 ounces) Grated cheese

Vegetables:

  • 1 Grilled red pepper
  • 1 Grilled green pepper
  • 1 Onion, chopped

Spices and Seasonings:

  • 1 teaspoon Sweet pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Hot pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • Salt to taste

Other Ingredients:

  • 4 Wheat tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons Chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Sauté diced onions in olive oil until golden and translucent, then add ground meat, seasoning with salt and selected spices. Cook thoroughly, stirring continuously until meat is completely browned.
  2. Allow meat mixture to cool slightly, then fold in freshly chopped cilantro for vibrant flavor enhancement.
  3. Dice roasted peppers into uniform small pieces and gently incorporate them into the seasoned meat mixture.
  4. Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface, evenly distribute the prepared meat and pepper mixture across the entire tortilla.
  5. Generously sprinkle grated cheese over the meat layer, ensuring complete coverage.
  6. Carefully place a second tortilla on top, gently pressing down to create a sealed quesadilla.
  7. Transfer the assembled quesadilla to a preheated oven at 180°C and bake for 5 minutes until cheese melts and tortilla edges turn crispy.
  8. Remove from oven, allow to cool for one minute, then slice into four equal triangular wedges.
  9. Serve immediately while hot, accompanied by optional garnishes like sour cream or salsa.

Notes

  • Customize spice levels by adjusting chili powder or adding jalapeños for extra heat.
  • Choose lean ground beef or substitute with ground turkey for a healthier protein option.
  • Prep ingredients ahead of time to reduce cooking stress and speed up the process.
  • Enhance flavor by using fresh cilantro and allowing meat mixture to rest before assembling quesadillas.
