Ingredients

Scale

Cake Layer:

  • 1 box devil’s food cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Filling and Topping:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups caramel sauce
  • 8 full-size snickers bars, chopped
  • 1 cup salted peanuts, chopped
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

Garnish:

  • 4 additional snickers bars, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 2 tbsp chopped peanuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare devil’s food cake mix according to package instructions using eggs, vegetable oil, and water.
  2. Bake cake in a 9×13 inch pan for approximately 25-30 minutes, then allow to cool completely at room temperature.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form, then set aside.
  4. In another bowl, blend softened cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth and creamy.
  5. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture gently to create a light, airy filling.
  6. Cut cooled cake into small, bite-sized cubes.
  7. Layer cake cubes in a clear trifle dish, drizzling caramel sauce between each cake layer.
  8. Sprinkle chopped snickers bars and salted peanuts over each cake layer.
  9. Spread cream cheese and whipped cream mixture evenly over the cake and candy layers.
  10. Repeat layering process, ending with cream mixture on top.
  11. Refrigerate trifle for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld and set.
  12. Before serving, garnish with additional chopped snickers bars, chocolate syrup, caramel sauce, and chopped peanuts.
  13. Serve chilled and enjoy the decadent dessert.

Notes

  • Swap devil’s food cake mix with gluten-free cake mix for celiac-friendly version.
  • Use low-fat cream cheese and whipped topping to reduce overall calorie content.
  • Substitute salted peanuts with roasted almonds or pecans for varied texture and flavor profile.
  • Prepare components ahead of time and assemble just before serving to maintain cake’s optimal texture and prevent sogginess.
