Ingredients
Scale
Proteins:
- 340g / 12 oz steak, sliced
- 227g / 8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
Noodles and Vegetables:
- 340g / 12 oz rice noodles or egg noodles
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 2 carrots, julienned
- 3 green onions, chopped
Sauce and Seasonings:
- 60 ml / 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 30 ml / 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 15 ml / 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, sugar, and black pepper in a small bowl to create a vibrant marinade.
- Pour half of the marinade over the sliced steak and shrimp, ensuring thorough coating. Let proteins marinate at room temperature for 15 minutes.
- Cook rice or egg noodles according to package instructions, then drain and rinse with cold water to prevent further cooking.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat until it shimmers, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Sear marinated steak in hot oil for 2-3 minutes, creating a golden-brown exterior. Remove and set aside.
- In the same wok, quickly stir-fry shrimp until they turn pink and slightly curled, about 1-2 minutes. Transfer to the plate with steak.
- Add julienned carrots and sliced bell peppers to the wok, stir-frying for 2-3 minutes until they become crisp-tender.
- Introduce cooked noodles and remaining marinade to the vegetables, tossing quickly to distribute flavors evenly.
- Return steak and shrimp to the wok, gently mixing with noodles and vegetables for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately while hot, ensuring each portion contains a mix of proteins, vegetables, and noodles.
Notes
- Optimize marinating time by using a ziplock bag for even coating and easier cleanup.
- Select high-quality, fresh proteins like tender sirloin steak and large, deveined shrimp for maximum flavor and texture.
- Keep wok or skillet scorching hot to achieve perfect sear and prevent soggy, wet stir-fry with minimal oil splashing.
- Prep all ingredients beforehand to execute lightning-fast cooking process and maintain each ingredient’s distinct texture and taste.
